The car matters less than you think: front-wheel, rear-wheel or four-wheel drive — they all cope, each in its own way, and horsepower isn’t what makes the difference. It just needs to be mechanically sound, with nothing leaking. The tyres are what count: a full set of four with road studs or event studs. Rally studs aren’t allowed — they tear up the track everyone shares. No studs? We’ll buy them for you in Sweden at cost; the price list shows what to expect. Just tell us in advance. What you need

The price list covers every combination — your port, how many of you are in the car and how long you stay — and the sign-up form works out your price as you fill it in. Budget for fuel on top of that, and for lunches: breakfast and dinner come with the nights, but lunch is on you. See the prices

Every date in the plan shows how many places are still free. The limit is the number of cars we let onto the lake, so dates tend to fill up well in advance. Check the dates

We’re putting a group together for exactly that — a few people have already signed up. The car goes by lorry, you fly. We price it case by case, and it depends on how many of us go for it: the more cars on the lorry, the cheaper it works out per car. The price of the trip changes as well — the ferries and the nights on the road come out of the standard package, while the transport and your flight go on top. The whole route is laid out in the plan — day by day, with ferry times and the distance for every leg, separately for each port. Insurance is yours to arrange: motor cover and a travel policy are down to you and aren’t included in the price of the trip. See the plan
