The frozen lakes of Jämtland

One of the most exciting things you can do on ice

You learn the craft of ice driving under professional instructors. For two or three days you drive specially prepared Audi Quattro S-line cars and a Porsche 911 on the frozen lakes of northern Sweden, where the conditions for it are among the best anywhere.

Professional ice driving

Specially prepared Audi Quattro S-line cars and a Porsche 911 on tyres carrying over 400 studs each — maximum grip on ice. Controlled drift and precise driving on the large tracks cut into the frozen lakes.

The cars in the package

Audi Quattro S-line and Porsche 911

One car is shared between two participants — you take turns at the wheel. Over the course of the programme you also swap between the Audi Quattro S-line and the Porsche 911, so everyone drives both. Want a Porsche Taycan on top of that — we can add one to the fleet for a surcharge.

Prices are per person and include VAT. They cover everything on the ground: the hotel, meals, the cars, the instructors and the airport transfers. Flights are not included — you make your own way to Östersund in Sweden (Åre Östersund Airport, OSD), and we meet you in the arrivals hall. Adding a Porsche Taycan to the fleet costs 250 EUR per person. Tell us how many of you are travelling and which package you have in mind.

How the trip runs

Arrival and welcome

Your group host meets you at Östersund airport and drives you to Frösö Park Hotel — minutes from the runway, looking out over the winter landscape. After check-in there’s a welcome dinner, where you meet the other drivers and hear the plan for the days ahead.

Driving and spa

Morning session

The instructors lay down the fundamentals of ice driving — car control, weight transfer and precision at the wheel.

Lunch on the ice

Lunch served in a traditional tipi, out in the middle of the frozen lake. That’s not a table you forget.

Afternoon session

The day closes with some friendly competition on the track.

Spa

After driving you head back to Frösö Park Spa to unwind and recover before the next day.

Åre Arctic Adventure

After breakfast, a transfer to Åre for a day of adventure: snowmobiles in the mountains and dog sledding. It ends with a hot tub and a sauna under an open sky, and in the evening a three-course dinner at the mountain restaurant Busstamon.
